A private billing practice with rebates available on the spot

Karuna-maya Medicine is a private billing practice with Medicare rebates available. Discounts apply for concession card holders (pension and health care cards). Medicare rebates can be processed on the day of your consultation.

Out of pocket (gap) fees allow us to ensure we can continue to offer quality and timely GP care to our patients, You will be charged on the day of your consultation, payment can be processed with cash, eftpos or credit card.

This is best for one medical issue or concern, reviewing blood tests or new referrals.

This is for more complex concerns, if you have more than one issue you want to discuss with your GP, and for all mental health appointments.

Those with chronic diseases with complexity that need more time to best manage. The Nurse will spend an hour with you to explore your health issues and come up with a management plan to best meet your needs with the right team. Please allow an hour for this. There is no out of pocket cost for this consultation. You will not be able to consult your GP on other issues at this appointment.

Medicare funded health assessments are an opportunity to check in with Nurse and GP to ensure you are getting the best preventative health care possible. Please allow one hour for this appointment. You will not be able to consult your GP on other issues at this appointment, this is a Medicare requirement.

A full body skin check with a dermatoscope . Please wear clothes that are easily removed. If you do not want a full skin check but need a spot check, a fifteen minute appointment is adequate.

Looking after your mental health is important to us, please book a long appointment to allow enough time to best support you. Please advise our reception team upon booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes we do. Some of the doctors working at KMM have closed their books to ensure they can meet the needs of their current patients, this is continually under review. Please enquire with admin staff for further information about each individual practitioner.

Yes. We keep a number of appointments for ‘on the day’ for when a more urgent appointment is needed. These cannot be booked online and you will need to phone our reception team first thing in the morning to book one of these.

We are a private billing practice, most consults will incur an out of pocket fee. Health assessments and Chronic Disease Management Plans have no out of pocket cost.

The best way to get your results is to book a follow up appointment with your GP. This may be able to occur over telehealth. Results cannot be sent to a patient without a GP review, this is in compliance with healthcare standards.

All the doctors at KMM are happy to see patients that usually see a different doctor. Your history will be available to them. Alternatively, you can join a waitlist for your regular GP here.

There are urgent appointments kept available daily for regular patients, please phone admin staff to book these appointments, they cannot be booked online. We do our best to meet demand.

We acknowledge that this can be very frustrating. Our reception staff are wonderful and do their best to cater to your needs in a timely manner. Consider whether your issue can be better sorted by booking online.
